The music venue announced that everyone was safe following the fire.

“We had a fire that the SK Fire Department put out very quickly, but we had enough damage that all shows ‘till Thursday are canceled. Tix refunds coming,” said the business on Saturday.

“We are grateful from the bottom of our heats that the Pump House still stands,” they followed up.

“Thanks to the prompt response by the South Kingstown Fire Department — they worked efficiently and kept the fire from becoming more serious,” they added. “Thank you to the community for your support and your concern. There is some cleaning and repairs to attend to, but we will be back soon.”

The venue describes itself as the following:

"A guitar-making school turned into a concert venue... that's right, what started as a series of open mic jams, and a space for a guitar-building community to grow, has now become one of South County Rhode Island's premier live music venues, with live music shows happening every Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

At Pump House Music Works and Shady Lea Guitars, we believe that music makes a positive difference in each of our lives. Music nourishes our souls. Our goal is to support and nurture the musical community in Southern RI through a wide range of live music and music-related activities.

Pump House Music Works, a non-profit organization, offers high quality music concerts and related social events in our intimate 125-person venue. We present a variety of local, regional and international performers representing all musical genres. At our monthly open mic and pot luck socials, we provide opportunity for beginners and seasoned performers to create magic by sharing and supporting their music. Throughout the year, we also host special events to bring people together ranging from family holiday open houses to backyard BBQs and special gatherings for community-oriented non-profit organizations."
